Album Description
BTOB Returns with a Tension-Filled ‘Thriller’!
BTOB, who has been loved for their performances and vocal talents across various genres like dance and ballads through songs like Insane, Father, WOW, and Second Confession, is back. Having already earned recognition for their exceptional vocals, BTOB has opted for their “vocal allure” instead of a performance-driven comeback for their comeback.
1. 내가 니 남자였을 때 (When I Was Your Man)
In an unusual move, BTOB pre-release the track When I Was Your Man through a live performance on the radio before the album release. They even plan to surprise fans with impromptu live performances as part of a unique marketing strategy. While their comeback marketing showcases their sweet and soft “sweet guy” image, their official promotions will bring out their intense and powerful charm for their full-fledged activities.
2. 스릴러 (Thriller)
The title track of their third mini-album, Thriller, enhances the song’s quality by combining sharp and tense string sounds with the BTOB members’ rough vocals. The song’s composition which unfolds without pause along with the rapid and intense rap by Jung Ilhoon and Lee Minhyuk complete the thrilling tension of Thriller. The album image also fully showcases BTOB’s strong and mature masculinity that is latent.
3. 왜이래 (Why)
BTOB, who are talented in both songwriting and composing, took their first step as composers by directly participating in creating several tracks on this album. Notably, 왜이래 (Why) was co-produced by their Cube Entertainment senior, BEAST’s Lee Gikwang, and BTOB’s Lim Hyunsik, with Lee Minhyuk and Jung Ilhoon participated in writing lyrics. The song features a dreamy sound and a repetitive chorus that evokes a bittersweet emotion.
6. 별 (Star)
Inspired by BTOB trainee days, where it’s filled with fear of an uncertain future. They looked up at the shining stars in the night sky and began to dream. Star reflects BTOB’s story of how, just as they were dreaming of becoming someone, they realized that they too could become the dream for someone else.
Additionally, the album also includes a variety of BTOB’s music, such as the cleverly titled 내가 니 남자였을 때 – When I Was Your Man You Should Have Treated Me Better. The track Catch Me expresses the honest confession of a man in love. The uplifting 크리스탈같이 (Like a Crystal), a song with a melody which gives a feeling of falling in love with each listen.
BTOB, who has drawn a hot attention with every album release and continued to grow, is expected to shine brightly in 2013 with their dazzling activities!
