Album Description A ‘Different Class’ Dark Horse, BTOB
The new model of K-POP boy bands, BTOB, is back with their new release Press Play. Following their debut song Insane, this second mini-album, Press Play, takes its title from the ‘Play’ button on a cassette tape, symbolizing “Now is BTOB’s Play Time.” The album showcases BTOB’s distinct style, incorporating a 90s retro image and the feel of New Jack Swing, setting them apart from other boy bands.
1. Press Play The intro song Press Play carries the literal meaning of pressing the ‘Play’ button to enjoy BTOB’s music. Especially notable is the contribution of their labelmate G.NA, who not only featured in the song but also participated in the concept and lyrics, showing her deep affection for BTOB.
2. WOW The title track WOW stands out with its New Jack Swing style, which was hugely popular both domestically and internationally in the 90s, bringing a fresh wave to the otherwise monotonous idol music market. The witty lyrics, “급이 달라 남달라 태 태 태 태가 달라” (“We’re on a different level, we’re different, our style is different”) contain a familiar rhythms with a modern touch.
3. 사랑밖에 난 몰라 (Lover Boy; I only Know Love) I Only Know Love continues the 90s retro sound, filled with a charm that makes listeners feel instantly nostalgic. While the mainstream of K-POP flows with flashy electronic sounds, BTOB, known for their exceptional vocal skills, began to showcase their unique color. In this track, the seven members portray themselves as passionate men who only know love, expressing their emotional performance over a strong beat.
4. U & I U & I delivers sweetness and warmth to a loved one.
5. My Girl My Girl, an acoustic guitar-based song that highlights BTOB’s smooth vocal lines.
6. Stand UP Stand Up, with its encouraging and comforting lyrics for the weary, is sure to meet listeners’ expectations.
As Cube Entertainment’s ambitious new face, and having been marked as the next generation’s leaders even before their debut, BTOB’s activity this fall is set to redefine K-POP in 2012.

Album Introduction The next generation of emotional idols rising in 2012! “Father”, a heartfelt confession from BTOB, the gentle seven-member group.
After surprising the public with their solid vocal skills and seasoned stage presence in their debut song “Insane”, BTOB returns with the heartfelt ballad “Father.” Released especially for Parents’ Day on May 8, “Father” is a love message from BTOB dedicated to all the fathers of the world. The lyrics express the deep emotions felt when noticing the weary appearance of a father who once seemed strong and invincible. They also remind us of the gratitude we often overlook for our families. This song resonates with listeners of all generations. The combination of its lyrical melody and BTOB’s emotional vocals adds a deeper layer of impact for the audience.
Composed by hit ballad makers Lim Sanghyuk and Jeon Dawoon, the song blends a soothing piano melody with sentimental string sounds to evoke love and appreciation for fathers. As we celebrate Family Month in May, pay attention to BTOB’s music, a messenger of love, who will deliver those words we have been too shy to say until now: “I love you, Dad.”

Album Introduction Following 4Minute, BEAST, and G.NA, Cube Entertainment’s ambitious project, BTOB!
BTOB (Born TO Beat), debuting under Cube Entertainment, is a seven-member boy band that is regarded as one of the most highly anticipated groups of 2012. The name, “Born TO Beat,” carries two meanings: “Born for Beat (music)” and “Born to overwhelm listeners worldwide with our own music.” BTOB is a skilled group that Cube has long prepared, enhancing their vocal and performance abilities through thorough pre-debut analysis, especially targeting the Asian market. Even before their debut, some members gained attention by appearing in the sitcom “Living in Cheongdam-dong”, debuting on the show as the most popular idol group, which caused a sensation, even topping search rankings.
BTOB is making an exceptional debut as a rookie with two title tracks, “비밀 (Insane)” and “IMAGINE.” These tracks were created by composers Seo Jaewoo and Seo Yongbae, who diversified Cube’s production capabilities. The songs stand out with emotional melody lines, in stark contrast to the electronic performance music dominating the current K-pop scene. In particular, “Insane”, features an emotional piano line blended with grand strings and a sophisticated melody, with the arrangement and lyrical vocals intensifying towards the end of the song, highlighting the emotional depth of the vocals. “IMAGINE,” an urban R&B track, realistically portrays the inner conflict of being drawn to someone other than the girlfriend, a situation many men might relate to.
As Cube’s long-prepared ambitious project, BTOB shows musical maturity despite being rookies, with members actively participating in songwriting, rap-making, and music production. To ensure the quality of their debut songs, they included a 28-member string section and carefully refined the tracks through multiple revisions, showcasing their artistic dedication. In 2012, when K-pop is expected to advance, BTOB boldly steps forward under Cube’s name with exceptional talent and songs of rare perfection, securing their title as one of the “most promising” group.
